As we and the world over have been gripped by the COVID-19 pandemic from the start of 2020 to the present, we are grateful and lucky to have been brought into new project work by an area architect at the kick-off of 2021 with a renewed sense of calm and optimism. This new series of design work is being conducted for an organization and convention center that works for social justice through education, empowerment, and partnership with groups & people at a national and international level. We are happy to contribute to their mission with designed enhancements to their platform and facility for building positive and inclusive relationships.

Our design work on this project is taking a larger look at developing a built armature and framework which facilitates outdoor flex space potentials for passive recreation, outdoor event & presentation space, private reflection & larger group communal space, as well as self-led garden mediation activities for organization residents. When designing a larger laundry list of desired program for this project and maximizing limited footprint, we enjoy stacking multiple activities and area use within one built footprint and provide an armature for doing a bunch of things in one thing.  Design work in this project has been a true creative partnership between us/landscape architects, building architect, and client/organization, among a larger project team of design consultants and stretches to address an entire 1.58-acre site.
