Starting in the summer of 2018, KBLA was brought into design collaboration with Warrenton city area architect James Hricko and representatives of the PATH Foundation, for proposed new commercial property green-roof and outdoor lounge space. The scope of proposed design work includes:

  • New suspended pavement system, taking the finished grade approximately 1 foot above the existing roof membrane and flush with roof-top door entrance access.

  • New view-shed screen & planter system armatures, used both at outdoor lounge footprint and south elevation window emplacements. Screen systems provide a full screen of undesirable/un-occupied roof membrane and utility viewsheds while allowing full range of south elevation sun access and seasonal light migration patterns.

  • Planting design and green-roof soils specification have been developed both complimentary to more formalized lounge & utility area footprint layouts, as well as partnered with view-shed screen armatures, for enhanced screening abilities.
